Cantwell Cliffs

Cantwell Cliffs is one of the 7 hiking areas of Hocking Hills State Park system- Old Man's Cave, Ash Cave, Rock House, Conkle's Hollow, Cedar Falls, Hemlock Bridge Trail to Whispering Cave, and Cantwell Cliffs. Each of the park areas offers a unique experience for those who walk its paths. From hemlock-lined trails, to huge rock formation, waterfalls to rock bridges, guests to the park are sure to treasure their explorations for years to come. Rich in forested areas and natural wonders, there are over 25 miles of hiking trails in the Hocking Hills State Park system. All feature one-way looped trail systems for safety; hikers cannot turn around and go against the flow, and must follow one-way signs.

 

Cantwell Cliffs - Hocking Hills

The Look: Winding narrow passages, steep incliness and a cliffs makes Cantwell Cliffs an exciting place to visit.

Dogs are allowed on leash. There is a long and steep passageway of narrow steps in one section that some dogs refused to traverse. There is a huge cliff dropoff.

What to look for: Just down the rock stairway and to the right is "The Squeeze", a narrow passage that leads to the lower trail.

Length: Start at Parking Area. End at Parking Area.This is a one-way in and one-way out loop. There are over two miles of trail with two loops. Each is one mile. It takes approximately 60 to 80 minutes to hike each loop of the trail.
